The first week we was researching on mime, what it is, what it evolves etc. Also made a PowerPoint.

We was watching mime performances on YouTube, the most famous mime performers are Mr Bean and Marcel Marceau.

WEEK 3: The Elements of Mime

I looked at the elements of movement, facial expressions, hand movement etc.

WEEK 4: Who is Our Audience? What do they want?

Our audience is mostly for teenagers and young adults, people who would appreciate the art of mime performances, and the sense of humour.

WEEK 5: Ideas for Paired Performance

Ideas for paired performance, Abisola and me decided to make a performance of playing with a ‘Mime’ ball. Make it look as real as possible; use movement and facial expressions to do this.

WEEK 6: Ideas for Group performance

The whole group contributed to ideas for the group performance and we all made are own characters for the piece.

WEEK 6: Storyboarding

Abisola and me made a storey board together about our paired performance, using pictures and words.

Everyone brought their own Props and borrowed some equipment, rehearsals where successful as every one turned up.

We had to learn a set dance nearer to the end of the performance.

WEEK 8: Rehearsal

Rehearse for our group and pair performance so we done it all together.

WEEK 10: Campaign/ Promotion Plan

The promotion team made posters and we planed a flash mob.

WEEK 11: Rehearsal – Visit from Professional Mime Artist

We all had a session with a professional mime artist and he taught us things to help in the performance so we could get better.

2.4 - Evaluation for Mime performance

Evaluation for performance

What went well is every one stayed in there character on the performance night which was amazing, and also the sound technician (Tangina) done a great job with the sound as it came in good timing, and was very effective as it made the mime come to life.

What went badly was on one of our pair performances the lighting was very dark so it was hard for the audience to see what was going on, this didn't as much effect the show to badly but the show did go on and done it very well.

Improvements:

  • I think what can be improved is one of the scenes that the pairs perform there is very dark lighting so you cant see the performance, so there should be brighter lighting so the audience can watch and enjoy
  • Also in some scenes there was a bit of laughing from the performers so the characters should remember to stay in character at all times even if they do mess up a bit of the play always remember to carry on like nothing happened, because the worst thing to do is stop and laugh.
  • I think the costumes should be improved a bit as one student was in school uniform, just get something from home and customise.

All these improvements will make the performance better.
